Born in Aston, Birmingham in 1941 he attended Bournville College of Art and the Birmingham College of Art. In 1961 Tom entered the Royal Academy Schools where he was fortunate to study under the professorship of the late Peter Greenham. Now President of the New English Art Club he has in the past been President of the Royal Society of British Artists, The Pastel Society and is also a member of The Royal Society of Portrait Painters and The Royal Watercolour Society. In 2000 he was commissioned to be the official artist for the England XI cricket tour of South Africa. Winner of a multitude of prizes Tom’s paintings are to be found in public and private collections throughout the world.
